 About me

Laura Davis journalist.jpg

I am a freelance journalist with more than 20 years experience, working in a range of writing, management and audience development roles.

Most recently, my work has focused on audience development, leading on Reach Plc’s Customer Value Strategy in the North West and North Wales with the aim of building loyalty and subscribers to websites and newsletters including the Liverpool Echo and Manchester Evening News. My teams also looked after social media, running Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tiktok accounts for four titles. I used a range of analytics to help inform day-to-day decisions and the wider strategy.

I have extensive experience of developing and writing newsletters both for Reach Plc and my own North West arts brand Stored Honey.  I was also Relationships and Special Projects Editor for Reach Plc's community-led Niche sites, responsible for audience engagement and project management.

As an award-winning writer, I was Arts Editor of both the Liverpool Echo and Liverpool Daily Post.

I have hosted and produced two podcasts: Liminal, featuring stories of the Merseyside coastline, and Beatles City, about the band's early years (with Ellen Kirwin). Both were shortlisted in the Publishers Podcast Awards 2020.

I completed the Journalism Innovation & Leadership programme at the University of Central Lancashire in 2023.
