Laura Davis

Freelance arts & heritage journalist

I have been writing about the arts scene in the North West and beyond for more than 20 years, and am especially passionate about covering cultural activity taking place in the North.

I have bylines in the BBC, The Mirror, the Metro, all Reach Plc regional titles including the Liverpool Echo and Manchester Evening News, The Stage, The Simple Things, The Lead and more. Over the years, I have interviewed a long list of prominent artists, actors, authors and musicians including Jonathan Pryce, Kim Cattrall, Peter Blake, Fiona Banner and Paul McCartney.

In my weekly newsletter, Stored Honey, I celebrate the arts scenes in Liverpool, Manchester and the whole of the North West, including with exhibition reviews, interviews, gallery and museum guides, and profiles of locally based creators. I was previously Arts Editor of both the Liverpool Daily Post and Liverpool Echo.

I also write content for a range of clients including arts organisations and funding bid consultants. Recent clients include Theatr Clwyd and Headland Design Associates. And I work on oral history projects and podcasts. Two of my podcasts Beatles City, about the band's early days in Liverpool, and Liminal, stories from the Mersey coastline have been short-listed for the Publisher Podcast Awards.,
